- Have you ever felt that Girona looks familiar? You’re absolutely right! This stunning Catalonian city is a delightful surprise package — a place where three dreams come true at once. Why do we say that? Because Girona has served as the filming location for several well-known productions, including the global hit HBO series Game of Thrones, the romantic Korean drama Memories of the Alhambra, and the suspenseful movie Perfume: The Story of a Murderer.
- Located 99 km north of Barcelona, Girona is easily accessible. We’ll travel by air-conditioned coach along the highway, reaching this charming city in approximately 1.5 hours.
- Once there, we’ll begin a 2-hour guided walking tour, where you’ll discover the legends of petrified stone in the old town, stroll along La Rambla, visit key plazas, admire the colorful houses lining the Onyar River, and see the iconic red iron bridge designed by the same company that built the Eiffel Tower. Of course, for fans of Game of Thrones, the tour highlights several filming spots — including the majestic Catedral de Santa Maria de Girona, which appeared as the Great Sept of Baelor. (Please note: entrance fee is not included.)
Your guide will share insights into the cathedral’s architecture, and during your free time, you can choose to explore the interior or enjoy some local delicacies in the charming alleyways nearby.
