To provide a safer, more comfortable, and sustainable railway experience, a comprehensive modernisation project for the Montreux–Rochers-de-Naye line has officially begun. We are committed to upgrading our infrastructure to ensure the long-term operational quality and future development of the line.

Due to modernisation works, all train services between Montreux and Rochers-de-Naye are suspended

Alternative Transport & Service Limits

• Replacement buses run Montreux ↔ Haut-de-Caux ONLY.
• Replacement buses will only run as far as Haut-de-Caux. The upper section to the summit (Rochers-de-Naye) will be inaccessible, and all summit facilities and scenic areas will be closed during these periods.

Ticketing & Travel Advice

• Swiss Travel Pass (STP) Holders:
  The Montreux ↔ Haut-de-Caux section is fully covered by the STP. Pass holders can ride the replacement bus for free without purchasing an extra ticket.
• Non-STP Ticket Holders:
  Fares for the replacement bus remain the same as regular train tickets. We recommend purchasing your Montreux ↔ Haut-de-Caux point-to-point ticket on the day of travel via the SBB Mobile App, ticket machines, or at the Montreux station counter for maximum flexibility.

*Staying at a hotel in the Montreux/Vevey area for one night entitles you to a free Montreux Riviera Card, which allows free travel to and from the suburbs of Vevey/Montreux. Refer to the map.

After descending, you can combine a lakeside stroll with visits to places that are free to enter with a Swiss Travel Pass, such as Château de Chillon and the Nestlé Museum (Alimentarium) in Vevey.

• Non discount ticket is intended for travelers not holding a Swiss Travel Pass.
• Swiss Travel Pass holders can ride for free up to Haut-de-Caux, and purchase a discounted ticket (approximately 50% off) on-site for the remaining section to the summit.
