Today, you will embark on one of the most celebrated hiking trails in Cinque Terre. This panoramic route offers a breathtaking journey between the azure Mediterranean and lush mountain ridges, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the authentic Ligurian soul.

【The Classic Panoramic Route: From Vernazza to Corniglia】
Set off from the picturesque village of Vernazza on a journey that takes you above the clouds. After a rewarding, steep ascent, you will reach the serene hilltop hamlet of San Bernardino, offering bird's-eye views of the coastline far beyond the standard trails. The path then winds down toward Corniglia, where an authentic local wine tasting awaits. It’s the perfect blend of physical challenge, breathtaking scenery, and Italian flavor.

• Hiking Stats: 5.5 km / Approx. 3 hours (Ascent: 380m, Descent: 310m)

【Advanced Challenge: The Adventurer’s Path through Volastra】
For those with a spirit of adventure and a surplus of energy, the journey continues toward Volastra. This section leads you through the region's most iconic terraced vineyards—magnificent stone-walled fields built and painstakingly maintained by generations of local winegrowers. The trail eventually descends into the vibrant, multi-colored harbor of Manarola.

• Hiking Stats: 4.8 km / Approx. 3 hours (Ascent: 290m, Descent: 345m)

Tip: Manarola’s sunset is arguably the most beautiful in all of Cinque Terre. We highly recommend finding a cliffside table to witness the golden hour while enjoying a private dinner at your own pace.

Today, you will hike along an evocative ancient pilgrimage trail, where spiritual history meets the breathtaking natural beauty of the Ligurian coast.

【From Sanctuary to Sanctuary: Vernazza to Monterosso】
Your journey begins in Vernazza, ascending toward your first stop, the serene Sanctuary of Madonna di Reggio. The trail continues through lush Mediterranean vegetation, offering glimpses of the glistening sea as you make your way to the Sanctuary of Madonna di Soviore.

The path eventually leads you down into Monterosso, the largest of the five villages. Monterosso is world-renowned for its enchanting sandy beaches and a vibrant historic center brimming with artisanal shops, charming cafés, and authentic restaurants.

• Hiking Status : 10 km / Approx. 5-6 hours (Ascent: 525m, Descent: 545m)

We highly recommend bringing your swimsuit. After a day of hiking, there is nothing more refreshing than a restorative dip in the Mediterranean sea to conclude your journey.

Today, you will experience the most visually stunning hiking route of the entire journey. We head to the southernmost tip of the Cinque Terre region to witness the raw power of nature and the timeless charm of an ancient seaport.

【Spectacular Coastal Hike: Riomaggiore to Portovenere】
Departing from Riomaggiore, you will embark on a magnificent trail leading to Portovenere. This 5-hour trek is renowned for its diverse terrain and incomparable cliffside panoramas. As you traverse the steepest coastline of the southern Cinque Terre, you will be rewarded with endless views of the deep blue Mediterranean.

• Hiking Stats: 12.5 km / Approx. 5 hours (Ascent: 680m / Descent: 690m)

【Seaside Return: A View from the Waves】
Upon arriving in Portovenere, known as the "Port of Venus," take some time to wander through the historic Church of St. Peter and the vibrant, narrow alleys. For the return journey, we highly recommend taking the public ferry back to Monterosso (at an extra cost). Relax on the deck and enjoy a unique sea-level perspective, gazing back at the magnificent mountain paths and the five colorful villages you’ve explored over the past few days.

Bid farewell to Cinque Terre as we journey by train to Genoa, the capital of Liguria (approx. 2-hour ride).

Once a maritime superpower that dominated the Mediterranean, Genoa (Genova) is a city of contrasts. It weaves together a labyrinth of ancient alleys, majestic Baroque palaces, and Italy's most expansive seaport. Compared to the vibrant energy of Cinque Terre, Genoa offers a refined elegance and a deep sense of historical heritage.

• The Dominance of a Maritime Republic : Once a rival to Venice and the "Master of the Mediterranean," Genoa is the proud birthplace of Christopher Columbus. You can still find the ruins of his childhood home at the edge of the Old Town.
• The Palazzi dei Rolli System : A unique chapter in Genoese history. In the absence of a king, the Republic established a system where noble families were chosen by "lottery" to host visiting heads of state in their private mansions. These prestigious residences are known as the Rolli Palaces.
• The Culinary Soul : Beyond its world-famous Pesto, the Focaccia is a must-try local staple. Locals even embrace the tradition of dipping fresh Focaccia into their morning cappuccino.

Today, we journey into the "soul" of Genoa, exploring everything from the opulent interiors of aristocratic palaces to a local-favorite fishing village at sunset.

The true magic of this city isn't found in wide-open vistas, but in the secrets hidden within its "Caruggi" (ancient alleys). It’s the way the morning sun filters through narrow limestone walls, the scent of fresh basil and warm focaccia wafting through the air, and the effortless grace with which the city balances aristocratic splendor with everyday charm. 

Today, we slow down. We will wander through golden galleries, relive the legends of the Mediterranean, and finally, find ourselves in a colorful seaside sanctuary to bid a poetic farewell to "La Superba."
